Madagascar

Ce Cylinder textile cf verriculum est répandu de Ceylan au Mozambique. Je l' ai acheté pour 0,30 € à la brocante de Capdenac-le-haut ( Uxellodunum pour les intimes) en Août 2007. Il était avec son periostracum et a le coloris de ceux de l' île Maurice. A mon avis plutôt un Archiepiscopus. L' intérieur est rosâtre et est assez lourd!!! Celui-là est plus proche de Conus textile var ponderosa (Dautzenberg, 1932). Taille: 55 mm.

This Cylinder textile cf verriculum is widespread from Ceylon to Mozambique. I bought it for 0,30 € in the flea market of Capdenac-le-haut (Uxellodunum for tHistorians) in August 2007. It was with its periostracum and has the color of those of the island of Mauritius. In my opinion rather an Archiepiscopus. The interior is pinkish and is quite heavy !!! This one is closer to Conus textile var ponderosa (Dautzenberg, 1932). Size: 55 mm.

Cet autre Cylinder vient d' une brocante en un temps où je ne savais même pas qu' Archiepiscopus existait! Je le mets comme provenant de Madagascar car beaucoup de semblables sont en vente sur Shellauctionn sous le taxon: Cylynder textile archiepiscopus! Il y a une discussion pour savoir si Cylinder textile et Cylinder archiepiscopus sont deux espèces différentes ou non! Il est assez lourd. Taille: 55 mm.

This other Cylinder comes from an flea market in a time when I did not even know that Archiepiscopus existed! I put it as coming from Madagascar because many similar ones are for sale on Shellauctionn under the taxon: Cylynder textile archiepiscopus! There is a discussion as to whether Cylinder textile and Cylinder archiepiscopus are two different species or not! It is pretty heavy. Size: 55 mm
